1996 960 headlight wiper motor removal
I'm trying to replace the headlight lens on my 1996 960 wagon. The headlight assembly needs to come out, but the headlight wiper motor must be removed first. I can't seem to access the mounting bolts for the wiper motor. Chilton's is off-base with regard to removing a short piece of molding below the lens (there is one long one) and there are is no mounting hardware visible from below as suggested by another site.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Figured it out.
I figured this one out (thanks for the reply anyway). The wiper motor has a flat bracket attached to it. Toward the front of the motor there are two flat prongs about 3 or 4 inches apart which slid into flat slots molded in the bottom of the headlight assembly.
At the rear of the motor, these brackets bend up at a 90 degree angle, fit flush to the rear of the headlight assembly, and are fastened to the headlight assembly with #20 torx screws about 1" long.
You can't see these screws. You have to feel for them.
Space is very limited (this was on the driver's side). I used a thumb ratchet with a toxt bit. Looks like things would be easier on the passenger side once the battery is removed.
In any event, I hope this helps someone.
Bye the way, the whole reason for this project was to replace the headlight lens, which requires removal of the headlight assembly, followed by the removal of 7 retaining clips.
Do not let anyone convince you that you cannot replace just the lens on this model. The complete assembly is excessively expensive. You can find them all over the internet. The lenses alone are more difficult to find, but well worth your time to look for.
