Default 1996 960 - New O2 Sensors, Check Engine Light Back On...

I'm new here and could use a little advice. I have a 1996 Volvo 960 (non-Turbo). I bought it used a couple of years ago and thought I got a pretty good deal...not thinking that so much now! Last year I had to replace the engine because some piece broke off inside the engine and ruined everything. I'm running with a used engine (new to me!) with about the same amount of miles (113-ish) but I think this is beside the point. Last month my check engine light started coming on. It would go off every couple of days, but come back on just to make me angry. I took it in for the codes to be read and was told that I needed to replace both of my O2 sensors and that would be $600, please. I declined as long as my car wasn't in jeopardy and decided to replace them myself. A couple of weeks ago, I did just that. I ordered the sensors online, to save some money, and had an easy enough time installing them. Well, about 5 or so days later, my check engine light was BACK ON AGAIN. So I disconnected the battery for a few hours and tried to clean off the sensor plugs under the hood, and it worked...for awhile. A little over a week, my dash was nice and quiet, but tonight, poof, that pesky check engine light was back on. Really???

I'm running out of money fixing this sucker. Anyone have any suggestions? Ideas? Comments? Questions? Winning lottery tickets? If I replaced what I was told was the problem, why am I still being yelled at? Help!

theres a lot of things than can pop the code for O2 sensors. like vacuum leaks stuff like that obviously you have something else wrong with the car, don't assume because you have a code for the O2 sensors that is the problem, i had a code for misfire on cylinder 6 on my 97 960 and it was not the coil it was other thing wrong with it. read the codes and post them and then we can go from there!
