newbie.brought a used volvo.obd and check engine light/oxygen sensors
Hi,
I recently got a used Volvo S60. My first Volvo. Its a Volvo S60 2008.
Volvo S60 2008 - 2.5T FWD.
I have a OBD cable with me from my previous car.
I was wondering which software I can use to read the sensor values and all.
I have ScanXL Pro and Scan Master ELM.
I just want to read the sensor data and diagnostics data - not writing or doing anything to ECU. But I am too scared if its too dangerous to read the data with the OBD cable ( )
I have safely used the above softwares with this cable in Toyota and Lexus. But I am completely new to volvo and I want to know if its safe to use this software.
Is there any software which I can safely use to read sensor data from OBD cable?
Before purchasing the car, I had the check engine light, the service center told the front and rear oxygen sensors are faulty. And then i gave the car to service center so they could give me an engineers report.
When i got back the car, the check engine light wasnt there, does this mean that it was a false alarm, or just the code is reset and my oxygen sensor is really faulty.
Report attached.
When the previous owner gave the car for servicing - 20,000 kms ago - it was mentioned to him that "FRONT OXYGEN SENSOR WIRING IS DAMAGED". However recent visit to another service center told me that front and rear oxygen sensors are faulty.
They quoted me total of $727 along with labour to replace both the sensors. Is'nt this too high for an oxygen sensor?
No check engine light since I purchased the car - since 12 days.
Report attached.
