I haven't seen this before: When I shift to drive the small indicator lights (on the side by each gear position indicator), turns red. When I go to park then back to another gear the red indication is present. Does anyone have a clue on this? I have researched for a while with no results.

 

Every 960 that I have had has had gear shifter light problems. How long has this been going on? Maybe someting is loose in there.

On my current 960, it seems like the plastic piece in the shifter area is loose. I get a white bar lighting up all the positions from the selected down. Everything above the selected us not lit, dark. I just don't like tearing into the shifter area because the plastic parts are so brittle.

 

Thanks for the info. I have came to that conclusion also, I think. I may open it up soon, but am not looking for a long and drawn out affair.
