Default 1997 960 cel p0410

MY 960 has a re-occuring CEL light/code P0410, secondary air system fault. Any ideas and imput would be appreciated. I looked for a vacum leak and could not find any. Is there a PCV system or valve that needs to be checked/cleaned?

Hi-

I had this as well- replaced the air pump (lower left side of engine) and the silver valve that the air pump attaches to. (air pump check valve). Get a used air pump unless you have a lot of extra cash. I got one off ebay for $80, buying a new one from someplace like FCP Groton is almost $400. I did buy the check valve new from Groton, at $85. Of course, if the pump is working (you'll hear it), then you don't need to replace it. Solved my problem..

I'll give that a try and see what happens. Haven't had the time or $$$ to dig into this since the car still runs good.
