Default '77 265 with coolant in oil

hi guys, this is my first post and i had a question regarding a volvo 265 i wanted to purchase. The guy has owned the car for 29 years. He said out of those 29 years his car has had coolant in the oil for 15 of them. He changes the oil every 2-3 months to control the contaminated oil problem. I wanted to use this car over the winter.

Would the head gaskets be the problem? And if so, how hard are they to change? I've never worked on a volvo or anything larger than a 4cyl. I don't mind changing the oil often, i rather enjoy that, but is it worth to buy if i need to replace the gaskets? He wants $650, it comes with spare fenders, mechanical parts, etc...

thank-you in advance for your advice.

Personally, I wouldn't buy a log from someone that says what he said. Oil in the coolant for 15 years?? Run away, you don't know how much damage to bearings etc has been done, if his statement is true. But, if you feel up to an engine rebuild, go for it.
