Default 92 960 head gasket DIY??? Help Please

Okay so I am about to possibly buy a 92 960. I have worked on the 760 before but not the 6cyl.

The car is listed as below for $500

Car has a blown head gasket. New tires, new "Volvo" timing belt, new "Volvo" AC compressor and parts upgraded to R134a freon. Miles = 174,247. Less than 10,000 miles on new $1200 "Volvo Nivomat" rear shocks. New "Interstate" Battery and "Volvo" Starter Motor Installed last year.
I am pretty well mechanically inclined and have worked on tons of cars. I have been searching and not found anything on a DIY for doing the head gasket.

Only thing I have seen is that it is quite hard. I do NOT like taking my cars to mechanics as I usually do everything myself.

Question is...how hard would the head gasket be and is there a DIY anywhere out there? Would this car be worth it?

Thanks in advance!!

I replaced burnt valves in a customer's (well, it's mine now) T5 and I have to admit the job was a real pain in the ***, but after it was done, I would do it again. I never opened up a Volvo before this one. If you feel you are a decent tech and have done head gaskets on other vehicles, you should be fine. Just get a manual for torque specs.
