94 960 change gears
Hello
I have a 94 960 that's acting up. I went to the nearby store and car wouldnt change gears.. the rmp wouldnt go above 2and when i tried to press on the gas.. the car sorta jerked back.. it started and drove fine.. but as soon as i try to go above 20 miles.. the gear wont change ( i think).
i came back home put in park and gave it gas.. and there seemed to be no problem. i then turned my car off.. restarted it seemd to work fine.. the car would pick up speed andchange gears..
Any kinda help would be greatly apprecaited on this issue.
thanks

RE: 94 960 change gears
ok so my car been fine until last night. i crossed the toll booth and the same thing happend. the RPM would go up but i am unable to increase speed, when i press on the accelerator the cars jerks. I tired putting it in neutral and rev however wheni put it in neutral the cars very slowly goes back, as if it were in reverse, slowly. this hapens only sometimes ( i kept trying over a period of time).
the probem seems to go away if i turn off the car and start it again. I dont know what to do seems like something is wrong with the gear box and this only begun as soon as we got some really cold weather.
Does anyone know what is happening. I dont want to go to the mechanic without having a fair idea of what the problem is.

You need to have the codes pulled and see where they lead you.
You can pull them yourself using this method. https://volvoforums.com/m_50051/tm.htm
Use port A1
