Default 95 960 struts

Seems my front struts have seen better days. I have purchased some Monroe struts (#71520) from partsgeek @ $176 for a pair. I thought about replacing them myself, but after realizing all the work involved I've hired my car guy to do the work. He told me the cost will be around $180 for labor. Can someone tell me their experience with strut replacement and how much of a difference did it make on the ride and handling qualities?

Depends on how bad they are, it can make huge difference. What are the symptoms of the bad struts now? Then again, you already spent on new ones... halfway there. You can try doing them yourself but it's no fun, need heavy tools (spring compressor).

Default Got the struts installed

My car guy installed the new struts and I must say the ride quality has improved. No more clunking noise when driving over rough pavement and the ride seems to be smoother. Total cost with labor just shy of $400 and I think it was worth all of it. My 960 has 206K on her and I hope to get up to 300K without any major issues.
