Default 960 amplifier and speakers

Hello,

I've recently replaced the door speakers on my '92 960 wagon in both front and rear with Pioneer TS-A1376R. Everything went fine and was working correctly until today when I turned up the volume much louder than I usually would play and the sound on all 4 speakers went out. The dash speakers still work...
Can anyone please give me some advice on what might had gone wrong and what my remedies may be. I now see that the factory speakers were 8ohm and the ones which I installed are 4ohm.
Did I blow the amp? As I pointed out the dash speakers are still working...

Thank you very much!

Yes you probably blew an output channel on the amp, unless it has overload protection in the form of a user replaceable fuse or circuit breaker on the back of the head unit itself. Driving a 4 ohm load would draw twice as much current versus an 8 ohm load.
