960 Exhaust manifold leak
My 92 960 has a leak at the exhaust manifold. I would assume that the manifold gasket is the culprit, but while looking for a new gasket it seems there isn`t one. Is this correct?
If there is no gasket how should I repair this?
New exhaust manifold?
Sealant of some sort?
The leak is right under the first bolt from the front.
Thanks
Lee

You are saying the leak is between the exhaust manifold and the head? Correct? If that is the case there are six gaskets that seal. I would guess you will need to replace. One thing to check, does the nut hold, I mean is it stripped? The studs are easy to replace if that is the case.
Now, there is no gasket between the down pipe and the catylitic convertor. Maybe that is the cause for the confusion.
But there is definately a gasket at the head.

Thanks Dan, I did find manifold gaskets and received them yesterday. I may put them in today. Only question I have is, which way do the gaskets go on? The metal side to the Head? Or Metal side of the gasket to the manifold? I am hoping to find out when I take the old off.
