Default 960 PNP Bypass

I read a couple articles about the infamous PNP switch failure. Several were saying you could bypass that
switch and never be bothered again by having to drive home in limp mode. But nobody put up a wiring diagram of
how to actually make that happen. Now my car is acting like it's got the faulty PNP blues. I had that replaced about
15,000 miles ago and the female pigtail was deteriorated. They put some other connectors on and it was okay
for awhile. So is there really a way to bypass it? Can anyone give me a diagram that works? My car is a 1996
960 having an eight pin plug.
Thanks
bob

google around for automatic to manual transmission swaps (should be something similar to the 850s). When doing a MT swap its a common practice to spoof the computer's PNP inputs (since the MT doesn't have that shifter anymore..)

Super Mod,
So does that indicate that you can swap an Aw 30/40 in a 960 for a manual transmission?
Man would that be awesome. As far as I know only the Swede's got 960's with stick shift.
That would be a good change over kit for the aftermarket guys to put together. No more
electronic failures and a bit more satisfying to drive.
