Default ABS Light

Hey Everyone,

I was driving my Volvo last night (1996 960 with 92k miles) and the ABS light on the dash came on and stayed on. When I drove the car this morning the light came back on. I tried slamming on the brakes and did notice that the ABS did not kick in. I took it to the local AutoZone this morning to see if they could pull the codes for me and they said that the OBD II reader does not give information on the ABS system or transmission. Any ideas on how I can diagnose and fix this problem?

Thanks for you help,

Tom

Perhaps Autozone's OBD11 reader does not read ABS but this is from a Volvo publication.

I took it to the dealer. It was my rear ABS sensor (located in the differential) that was bad, and causing the ABS light to come on.
