Default Annoying gas-smell problem!

Hey everyone. I have a 1995 Volvo 960 Sedan. It's a 6-Cyl. 2.9 Liter Automatic, RWD. Now here's its problem:

Every single morning when I turn on my car, within minutes I smell gas. I can only smell it in the interior if I turn on the heater or fan. It is extremely annoying because within minutes it can fill my car with the smell. We have taken it to our family mechanic before and he replaced the fuel injector rods, and thought that might fix it. Well it didn't, but when we got the oil changed, the smell went away. It completely stopped... for two months. This only happens the first time I drive it for the day. Whether I dont take my car out till 8am or 8pm, it only does it once a day. The next time I get in my car that day its gone.. till the next day. It drives fine, with no engine lights on or anything. I hope this makes sense I need help! Thanks

I dont know if it has to do with the gas consumption... I only get 12 MPG, 13 if I'm lucky (ironic I know). Any input is appreciated.

Forgot to add: There are never any leaks coming from the car. And it happens whether I am full or near low gas. (All the time)

The fuel rail might be leaking but can't always be seen.

Tech is right- fuel injected cars have several connections that can leak, and with gas it doesn't have to be a lot for you to smell it. I would check ALL those connections first thing in the morning. Start it up and check for any wetness around any of the connections. the fact that it seems to only be first thing means that wherever it's leaking tends to seal itself once it starts getting warm.

Unless it is a BIG leak, you won't easily see it and it won't puddle- it willevaporate before then. Also, I don't think that's your main issue on fuel consumption for the same reason- if you were losing that much fuel, you'd see it.

I can't figure why your oil change would have anything to do with it.........
