Default Coolant sensor wiring

I have a 1996 Volvo 960. I am replacing the water temperature sensor under the thermostat. The problem is that the last owner replaced the sensor at some point and clipped the connectors off, then straight wired the sensor. It is also possible that he wired it backwards so I need to see the correct way to rewire it. The new sensor I bought has the connector on it and both wires are black. The connectors only clip together one way. What I need is a picture of the wiring (the grey/white and the grey/green wires) and how they go into the connector that you attach the coolant sensor connector to. By being able to see how they go into the connector I should be able to see the correct way to wire the new sensor in. I have gone through the wiring diagrams, they are of little help since its expected that the connectors are there and can not be hooked up backwards. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Hi Darla!

I don't think this particular component has a polarity. IIRC, it's just a thermistor; so it can be wired in either direction without issue...
