Cylinder head torque spec question
The factory Volvo manual I got my hands on says 15 ft./lbs, then 45 ft./lbs., then 150*. Does that mean 150* in one rotation, or does it need to be done in steps?
My volvo service manual says 15 lbs, then 44 lbs, then 130 degrees. I take it to be in one pull, that is what I have done. Starting from center out
11 7 3 1 5 9 13
12 8 4 2 6 10 14 That is the # sequence of the cyl head bolts.

Yes, that would be in one turn. If this is for a 6 cylinder, I think the spec is 130 degrees, I know when I bought my green manual, it came with some updated stickers to apply on some pages to reflect a new setting for some torque values. And head bolts was one of them.
Make sure the bolts, bolt holes are clean, chased and you have oil on the head bolts.

Also make sure to use new head bolts if specified. Most all engines that use an angle torque spec use stretch bolts and they really should be considered a one use item.
Besides, new bolts are just plain cheap insurance.

I have new head bolts, I know to oil them lightly (certainly not the first euro engine I've built, or overhauled), just need to verify the specs please.
Those 130* specs you guys are quoting - is that directly from a Volvo factory manual?
