Default EGR trouble

Hello-

So just grabbed the code for my new check engine light, and it appears to be an EGR issue. The question I have is- is the large silver check valve that attaches to the air pump what they are considering the EGR, or is there another true EGR valve somewhere? I have seen different websites refer to the check valve as the EGR, but I have seen others with a different picture of what they call an EGR valve...and if that is not it, where is the real one located?

Thanks-
Brady

Not sure, you want to post pics? I can check my repair manual later.

The EGR valve is located to the rear of the intake manifold, and has a pipe going from it to the intake manifold, and another to the exhaust manifolds.
