Default Front strut replacement . . .

Ive got a 1992 960 and it needs new front struts. i was thinking of just getting some kyb's to get the stock feeling. only problem is, ive got nivomat rear shocks.

Most of the kyb's i see say they exclude nivomats, but what would it matter? can i just get the kyb's for the front and not worry about the rears? i would really like some help here since this is something that needs to be done fairly soon.

thanks in advance.

so i can get pretty much any front strut and not worry about the rears? the rears dont need to be replaced, but the front ones do, BADLY!

so i can get these:
http://www.fcpgroton.com/product-exe...ategory_id/184

or these:
http://www.optionimports.com/hz3115-289.html

and still be ok as long as i dont touch the rears?

I would get these:http://www.ipdusa.com/version.asp?st...=482&V_ID=1510
You have a 92....I believe it uses a Strut insert like the ones from IPD.....
Yes you should be fine with just fronts....Tech can confirm this for you though...
Wait for him to get on in a few hours.....

I am not sure what the difference is between the two....I believe Boge is the OEM strut provider????

Here is a question....they need replacing....Are you looking for Stock ride quality? or are you trying to find better handling/ with slightly stiffer setup?

Myself....I like Bilstein. I have the HDs F&R on my 745T. It is stiffer than stock, but I dont like the floating feeling some stock shocks/struts provide. The HDs as well as the KONIs give you a better handeling/ controll over all roads.

I know Moderator Jim, on this site, likes the Bilstein torunings they are a little stiffer than stock but have slightly better control.

What are you looking for?

Look through this link and see what will suit you: http://www.ipdusa.com/Volvo-940960/S...1-136-472-482/
Or find a site that has cheaper prices....

im basically looking for stock set up. its actually my girlfriends car. i would like for her to have a bit stiffer set up since she drives in canyons pretty often, but i know she wont like feeling the bumps in the road.

so yea, youve been extremely helpful! and i guess i gotta buy the inserts instead of the whole set up. hopefully tech will confirm like you said.

All you need is the inserts....That is how these cars are designed....I will upload a pic for you to see. The insert goes inside the strut tube and everything goes from there....

Here you go:

Tech can help when he gets on....
