Default Headlight Upgrade Question

I purchased a set of low beam headlight replacement bulbs for my '96 960 (9006 100 watt) for greater brightness. The original part is (9006 60 watt).

Since the new bulbs have a significantly higher wattage I was wondering if they could possibly cause any electrical problem or damage.

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who had done a similar upgrade before I install the new bulbs. Is there any chance of a wattage upgrade this size causing a problem?

Would be an issue as that is too much extra juice to be running through.

Thanks for the reply. I've been using them for a couple of months now with no problem. Seems to be no reason for concern.

Something like this wouldn't be a 'suddenly fail' the first time you put them on. Just going to fatique over time.

I just got a 960 and being a lighting nerd going to play with them. See what kind of upgrade I have do to them.

Polishing the glass and cleaning the reflectors is about all you can do? Aftermarket hids are trash.

The OP has eliminated much of the electrical and thermal safety margin that the engineers put there, and is exhibiting antisocial behavior against other users of the road.

They don't seem to be a problem so far. I definitely have brighter lights than before, and haven't noticed any negative effect on traffic around me.
