how are you check for spark?

leaky injectors will cause it. i dont know how long after you are turning it off and trying to restart it though.

parting 95 960 if you need parts.

I'm pretty sure the MAF only controls air.

with a spark tester.

as soon as it gets warmed up the car will not start. now it has no spark even cold. i belive cam sensor but don't have the proper scan tool to watch the parameters to see.

That car has an on board diagnosis under the hood near the left strut if I'm not mistaken. Use it to check the codes. It does have a CEL right?

where are you?

let me know, i may 2.
i am still leaning towards leaky injectors.
a CPS and perhap the cam sensor will keep it from running, but not run fine until it is cut off. if it is one of them, it would also cut off while running.
but since you have no spark at all, one of these may be an option.
i am not sure how the spark tester works that you have, never had to use one. if the plugs are fouled and and firing, would it effect the spark tester, or does it plug in to the connector for the coils?

how long after it is cut off before it will not start.

email or call if you want the cam sensor and or CPS.

ok the spark tester plugs into the coil then to the spark plug. kinda like an old school plug wire with a light in it. it does not turn hard like a leaky injector would being unable to compress the liquid. it just cranks away. there is no tachometer movement either. so i was leaning towards cam or crank sensor just not sure which one fires the other ??????? and new ones are a but load and the lady is not exactly wealthy.

You can get one from the salvage yard to test it with. I did for our S70 last time it would not start.

i dont think it is the cam sensor. that thing is very basic. it looks like it is just a magnetic pickup, plus the gear on the camshaft is just a 180 degree sensor. it is on for 180 degrees of cam shaft rotation and off for 180 degrees. it may be similar to the BMW in that it fires the injectors in 2 groups of 3, the CPS just tells it when to fire and the cam sensor determines which group.

did you ohm it out?
i just did the 95 one.
open between the 2 outer pins and open between 2 adjacent pins, and 3.5M between the other 2 adjacent pins.

the 93 was a little different
3.7M between the outer pins and 3.5M between 2 adjacent pins and an open between the other 2 adjacent pins.

the one from a 93-ends in 023 and one from a 95-ends in 009(?). both look identical, and in fact, i had the 93 engine in my 95 car. make me an offer for the cam sensor and CPS, try them and the one that does not work, send it back. both are BOSCH
part of the connector on the 95 is broken off, but will not effect anything. i can send a pic if you want, just email me.

i have seen the cam sensor $190 and for $40, but neither were bosch.

BTW, tach get its signal from the Crank Sensor. I would go thru this checklist:

* Ensure fuel pressure is correct.
* Check for gasoline in oil.
* Ensure fuel injectors are not leaking.
* Check ignition and sensor wires for proper connection.
* Ensure spark plugs are not fouled.
* Check ignition and coil circuit.
* Check Crank Position Sensor.
* Check throttle switch and connector.
* Check idle valve. Ensure airflow arrow points in correct
direction.
