So here I am driving down a rural road and POP goes the hood. Didn't smash the shield, but rather hit hit the roofline and bent the hell out of the hood and now it's at the repair shop/ bodyshop.

QUESTION: there are 2 hyrdalic shafts for the hood, bit I noticed this other shaft that came unattached from it, it had a RED clip on it, wehat was it? a safety latch? if so it did not do it's job.


Where online can you go to get car seat parts? whole seats.

 

I agree OUCH I have had that happen to me before.

The Red things on the strut are only to allow the hood to be opened straight up.

If the hood flew up there must have been someything wrong with the latch on the radiator support. It must have come loose or something like that. There is supposed to be a safety latch but of course it didn't hold.

 

Well the two hydrolic struts are just that, but there was anothe strut looking thing, wider too, that had a red clip on the end. this clip you push on and "clasp" onto something. The boddy shop will tell me what it is when they get to it. Shouldn't that be the fault of Volvo or no go on that idea?

ALSO, I have red that repairing seats is expensive?? I had put the eltric passenger seat ALL the way down (to a laying down position) now the damn thing will not go up? It has been acting that way for a year, would go down but hesitateed to go up, sometimes it was luck getting it to go up. but nowit will only go down if I push that button, but not up. ( i hear a clicking noise going down (down all the way now) but nothing when I push it ti go up.

Going to have the body shop fix it, but if its expensive, screw that, I;ll buy a seat to go in there from a junk yard.

 

Ijust looked at pictures I have of my car fromn years ago, and in the picI see that red thing I was talking about, it seems to be a covering of some sort that goes over the struts. so that is solved now, it seems to have been nothing.

now what about that seat?

would S70 seats fit an s90?

 

Sounds like the cable that moves the seat is bad.You will have to open up the seat cover and get inside to see what is wrong.

There is a cable from the motor to the trans for the seat.
