Default How to Bypass PNP 960

If the car still drives with noshifting problems but won't start due to the dreaded PNP, you can bypass it. Locate the starter service socket (along the drivers side just below where fender mounts. There are 2 female spade connectors there, only one is used) Get a length of wire, solder a male spade to one end and a female to the other. Insert the male in the service connector. Disconnect the spade connector at the starter and put the new female spade on there (easier said than done, limited access) You can now start the car. Note that the car will start in gear now so make sure it is in park. I didn't want to go to the expense and labour of replacing the PNP and I always start the car in park anyway. Inge lives on.

For crying out loud, replace the PNP switch instead of hacking up the factory wiring. It really makes me mad to see people hack these cars up. Next time, buy something that you can afford to maintain.

If you know what you are doing, what's wrong with that? What other classy cars are out there that can bought as cheap and are affordable to maintain?
