I figure these questions have already been asked, and I'm going to get "use the search"!! repliesbut hey, I'm a newbie.

I am planning a v8 swap. How strong is the IRS in a 760? Is the diff(center section)the same as the one in a 740? (1030, 1031, Dana 30) How much torque can the irs diff/axles handle?

I would prefer the ride quality and handling of a 760, but maybe the solid diff of a 740 would be stronger for the torque of a v8 (around 400 ft/lbs).
