Just got a 960....1996
You talk about cleaning, good. But you haven't said yet if you checked coils.
a)- deteriorated connectors/wires backing out and
b)-underside of coils and boots for cracks.
How is your vision? If no good, get a magnifying glass. It takes a 10mm socket to unbolt out.
THANK YOU...and im sorry, im just getting frustrated, i have always been able to sort out my automotive issues...this is frustrating, and with Dodge, i can do ODB scans with key turns....so...this is a bit new to me...i will go by the auto parts store to see if they can scan it for me....if not i suppose ill be making one...lol

Fault lies elsewhere IMO. Did they erase these codes? If yes, have they come back? If no, erase them and see what comes back.
believe it or not, i just replaced the cam sensor in my mothers car, similar symptoms...so on the way to work i was thinking that was a possibility...
we did erase them, but i havent gone back yet,....but the CEL came right back on after only a moment...

I had a cam sensor in a Jeep I had go bad and I couldn't see it let alone change it. Can't help you on that one.
You need a really good T-40 to get those bolts out of these cars. I have stripped 3 or 4 T-40 bolts on Volvo's until I got a good quality tool. I actually put a warning in my t-belt instructions about it and posted pictures of the differences.
If the cel came right back on it is likely the same one for the cam sensor.
