Just purchased a 97' 960
I am the new owner of a 97' 960. I love the car, but I am having a few troubles with it. One the drivers seat does not slide back and forth, two, the sun roof does not slide, it only opens up and closes. Has anyone else had these problems, and if so, can you point me in the right direction to fix them? Any help would be appreciated. Also, I noticed the fuel requirement listed in the owners manual is for premium gas, 91 RON, or some other listing in AKI. What octane rating should I be using: 87, 89, 93? Thanks in advance for the help.

From what I know about the seat, mine being the same, is that they can be costly to repair. You might want to check if there is anything physicaly obstructing the sun roof track. The 960 has a high compression engine which means you should probably be putting premium in it, hope this helps.

Keep trying the seat switch sometimes the seats freeze if not moved for a while.
Do you hear the motor running?
For the sunroof you need to replace the sunroof select gates they are bad. They are plastic lined on the inside after time the plastic breaks and gets jammed in the gates.
You will be fine running 87 octane fuel.

Yes, I can hear the motor moving. Once and a while, the seat moves back and foward a little when I press the switch, but not much at all. I am inclined to think that it is the switch, but I have also heard that the seat comes off the track some how and causes the seat to become stuck.
Also, what type of oil and filter should I use? I was planning on Mobil 1, but I'm not sure which wieght to run.
Thanks again,
