94 volvo 940 wagon just purchased. need advice
Hello
New to the forum and this is my first post. Just purchased a 1994 940 wagon for my niece. I am in the process of getting it road ready and setup for PA inspection. I’ve already changed the flame trap, and the exhaust. I am getting ready for several more big projects…
I have the car on jack stands and I am ready to pull the tranny out to do the rear main seal. It was leaking quite a bit when I purchased it. Does anyone have any tips on this? I’ll be using a transmission jack and a bottle jack (in order to support the engine). I am ensuring the car is level so the tranny pulls straight out.
Also redoing the whole braking system. Two new front calipers, brake lines, rotors and pads all the way around. The master Cylinder says Bendix so I made an assumption that I have Bendix calipers. I hope that was a good assumption since I already ordered the parts. I know to pressure bleed the brakes and start furthest from the master cylinder and work my way up.
There is also a fuel leak I noticed when filling up the gas tank. I haven’t had a chance to look into it yet, but I am assuming it’s the filler neck. Which appears to be a rubber hose connection where u put the fuel pump into that runs to the tank? Has anyone replace this yet? Any tips, part numbers etc on this repair?
And hopefully last, it appears some of the bushings are quite brittle. I’d like to get around to changing these too, but wanted to know if I should even bother. I don’t even know the part name or number but just from looking at it, it sure looks like it could be replaced. Thanks in advance for any responses
