Default Lights don't always come on right away

I have a 1987 760 Turbo Wagon, and often lately, especially when it is cold, the exterior/dash lights don't come on right away. If I turn on the parking lights only, they will come on, but this does me no good for my headlights. I've taken the switch apart and it seems okay. I have not replaced the the bulb integrity sensor yet but I would like some advice before I do (after all it's a $70 part). Once everything warms up, they usually come on but in stages; the headlights and then the parking/interior dash lights or vice verse. Sometimes if I tap the switch, they will come on also. Not sure what to think. Also, the brake lights do the same thing from time to time and I constantly have the bulb failure warning light coming on and going off randomly, seemingly associated with hitting little (or sometimes big) bumps in the road. Any help?
