Lost all keys to the car
Cosmetics, interior, door panels, trim pieces. The turbo is easy. 200k kms is nothing if at all maintained. The mechanicals are easy especially a manual, just make sure the gears are smooth shifting, I believe that car has the M90 tranny everybody dreams about here but they never imported. No manual 940 was brought by Volvo to the US. Post some pictures.
Will do when I get home.
Unfortunately the guy is acting like he is doing me a big favor by selling me the car. Any extra photos and info i ask him is a hassle he cannot be bothered with. If he doesn't tell me the license number so I can check the car, i don't think I'll do the trip to see it. It's one thing to do 50km to find a car that doesnt drive or is a rust bucket. 600km is a bit much.

I like what I see! Love the color too, I like green. This car doesn't have rust. Rusty cars have a lot of surface rust on exposed metal everywhere including under the hood, I don't see any here. Good interior; even if the driver's seat is not perfect that's not too hard to fix. Don't much care for those wheels personally... I'd buy it immediately. If you buy it and don't like it I'll take it off your hands, pretty strong, eh?
He told me he will send me the license number later and I guess some more pictures. If the car comes out with a clean registry I'll definitely buy it. It's just that it seems a little too good to be true, know what I mean!? The guy could be asking 2500 and would still be the cheapest ride on the market. SO I'm not getting too excited. But I'm naturally a very careful person.
Anyway I asked him if he thought the car would make the trip back or if it was necessary to do some stuff. He was assertive that it would obviously do it and that the car is mechanically sound.

I know. That's my main concern about buying a Volvo to be honest. 10.5l/100km is a thirsty beast. But since I wont be driving it every day, it will be just a weekend car and for travelling to the mountains/countryside, I think it wont hurt me too much. But if I told my lady how thirsty they are she would flip out. But the diesel models aren't worth it are they?
Anyway, I have a hunch that these cars are going to keep gaining value. Not many around. And the turbo versions are EXpenSive as hell. So I guess if I buy cheap and take good care of it, I at least won't lose money.
Care to check this pdf I made with the cars I'm interested in and give me your opinion?

OK - the pictures show - screwed up/rigged door panels, broken plastic, kind of a nasty interior (yes I realize it's a 25 year old car)_ (with no flipping key!)
OP - You said - if I told my lady>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
So - even if this thing sucks gas, will she still be proud to ride/drive it?
Sorry, my wife's opinion is the most important thing to me - because if she is happy - I'm happy. I understand some guys might not care - but I do
What is it with the weird fabric covering the (broken) door pockets!. And the inserts in the door panels rigged on with screws? (at least they used the same weird fabric) Maybe they are at least the cheapest self tapping screws he could find!
(You can tell I'm not impressed)

I gave up on that lost key car. Honestly, for reasons other than the key. The guy was actting like a jackass. Anyway. Now I'm seeing a 940 Turbo from 1998 with 135hp. the b230fk. M90 tranny. I think i've mentioned it before on this post, but maybe you didn't read it. If you scroll up there are pics of the car. It's a european green one.
I have a reading problem. The odometer in my old Volvo shows mileage over the years, but on my keypad, it reads zero. I am lucky if it will start in the first three seconds after turning the key. It will lag behind any longer because of an electronic circuit by the locksmith that cannot be disabled without damaging the course. That's why I decide to contact the guys from https://www.extralocksmithslc.com/vo...key-locksmith/. The guys got me a new key and repaired the circuit. Know my car is usually working, and I am pleased with it.
