lost with my 1995 960
i just got my 960 back from the dealership...they were suposed to run a scan to find out why she is spitting and sputtering under acceleration...i was told i need to replace my cam sensor and front O2 sensor befor they could continue with the diagnostic...right now i am just trying to get her back on the road and am sortof at a loss on what to do...i know that both sensors did not go bad at the same time and my 960 does not have a dlc conection or i would have a friend hook itup to his diagnostic system at the dealership he works for...the symptoms i have are spitting and sputtering under any type of acceleration unless she has not been started for a few days then she will run 30 or 40 miles with out a glitch, but after that she startes spitting and sputtering again...any advice, help or direction would be great...
thanks

Maybe spark plugs or coils are bad or going bad.
Follow link to learn how to pull the codes.
It could be a bad O2 sensor.
The cam sensor usually either works or doesn't.

RE: lost with my 1995 960
OK...i ran through the scan...
on block A i got 3-1-4 (camshaft position signal missing or defective) i know that needs to be replaced, and i got 1-3-1 (ignition RPM signal) i have no idea what that is telling me
on block B i got 1-2-2 (air temp sensor signal) i have no idea what this means either
both block A & B codes were pulled off port 2
can you please help me understand what codes 1-3-1 and 1-2-2 are telling me???
thanks,
Dave

RE: lost with my 1995 960
i most likely plugged it up wrong on blockB considering block B did not have its own test lead or led...iused the test lead and led from blockA...theweb link that you gave me, does it have the other codes and definitions for the rest of the car???if not do you know where i can get them???

RE: lost with my 1995 960
OK, so i got my codes but i have run into a dilemma, i am missing connections (block A pins 5,6,7, and block B pin 1)
FAULTS
A-1) transmission
1-1-4 break in driving mode selector circuit (i can not reset this because i do have pin seven in block A)
A-2)fuel system
1-3-1 engine RPM sensor signal absent or faulty
3-1-4 camshaft sensor signal absent or faulty
A-3)ABS
1-1-1 no fault
A-5) transmission control,A-6) ignition system,A-7) combined instrument, has no pin
BLOCK B IS BEING TESTED WITH LEAD, LED, AND PUSH BUTTON FROM BLOCK A BECAUSE THERE IS NO TESTING TOOLS OTHER THAN PINS ON BLOCK B
B-1) climate control
no pin
B-2) cruise control
1-2-2
B-5) SRS
1-1-1
B-6) power seat
no read from pin
is there another way to reset the transmission and is there another way to get fault codes for the other systems, or are those systems to be done the old fashion way??? (trial and error)
