I have a 95 960 Wagon that I recently bought with 220k miles on it. It was running good until about a month ago, now it will not start and is giving me a code of 2-3-3. I have a friend who is a mechanic who came over and helped me look at it. First thing we did was to test for spark, we had spark, next thing we did was check for fuel pressure it is about 45psi. What happens is when I try to start it I smell fuel and it will not start. I bought a new mass air meter for it thinking that maybe the mixture was wrong, but still no start. I am getting ready to say forget it and get rid of the car.

 

Did you try to google the code? Could be a number of things but usually if you get fuel, air and ignition you will get a start. have you check vacum lines? I once had a 740GLE that would get a big hole in the air duct that went to the air mass meter which caused the car not to start and run.

 

Code 2-3-3 = Idle valve-closing signal.

See if it starts when holding the accelerator down slightly.
