need help with a child car seat..need help!!!
Hi everyone..i need your help with a graco car baby seat that we picked up. I'm having some issues with it...i was following the directions of the graco seat and using the lap/ shoulder strap meathod, but the problem is that, although the base of the child seat has a type of lock to hold the tension on the seat belt, the actual seat belt doesn't lock when it is retracted. It has the older system where when the seatbelt is relaxed it will move and on impact it will lock up...but i'm trying to find a way that it will keep itself locked all the time...any advice/help?
thanks guys

Hi, I just became the father of a baby boy in April, and I just installed a car seat in the back of my 850. What you need to use is a locking plate. Your car seat should have come with one, it looks kinda like an H.
See the following site for what it looks like and some instructions on when and how to use one:

Scroll down to the bottom for detailed instructions and pictures.
Even better, take your car seat to somebody to check it and install it properly for you. I believe you can find people at hospitals, fire depts, or police depts who will check your installation or even install it for you, or at least point you in the right direction.

Like everyone else has said, use the locking clip and you'll be fine. When you put the base of the seat in, put your knee on it and use that to push it down and then get the seat belt tight. If you do it right there will be no movement at all with the child seat. If in doubt go to a local fire dept and they will help you get it in correctly.
