New stereo in an old car
New stereo installed today in my 1994 960 sedan. I sourced all of the items from various places on the Internet:
Boss double DIN stereo, Seicane brand double DIN cage for the stereo, wiring harness adapter, 5.25 inch speakers for front doors, 6.5 inch to 5.25 inch speaker mounting adapters for the doors, 6x9 inch speakers for rear deck. It sounds great, a major upgrade to my old original unit which was worn out, front and rear door speakers were shot (didn't replace rear door speakers), 10 disc CD changer in trunk didn't work. And the grilles for the front door speakers were broken. My mechanic gave me a pair of good speaker grilles, I bought new mounting pins for the front door grilles and it looks OEM. I'll have to take more pictures in the daylight but I was too excited to wait to post something.

Thanks and the difference is so amazing. My old factory unit and speakers were in such bad shape. But on top of having new equipment versus old, and speakers functioning at all 4 corners of the interior, the new features including hands free calls via bluetooth built into the head unit are amazing. I went back and checked my order for the head unit on Amazon.com and I paid $57 for it with CD/USB/Aux//AM-FM/Bluetooth audio and hands free talking on phone calls. And it does sound great.
