glad i found this site! i have just got a 1988 760 GLE turbodiesel estate and i have a few questions, so i was wondering if any of you guys could help me!
Firstly, i was wondering if there was any potential to liberate any more power from the engine? can the turbo be tweaked? aftermarket filters an option? exhaust? i know i m not gonna get alot from it, just wondering if i could spice things up a bit!

it is the same engineering, parts as the vw turbodiesels that went in to the rabbit, jetta, audi 4-5000. it just has more cylinders. so just like a gasser you can bolt on an intercooler and turn up the boost. you'll just want to make sure the cooling system is working well to handle the additional heat. there are other more complicated things you can do like propane injection and such but for easy bolt on power(other than high flow filters and exhaust) intercoolers are great to cool down the air after it heats up being compressed by the turbo so you can push more in there.
