Oil leak
Hi-
I have a slow leak that is right around where the oil cooler is, by the filter. It's not leaking from the filter, but I can't see where it's coming from. It's running down onto the oil cooler housing and deteriorating the cooler line hoses. Any thoughts?
Thanks-
Brady

I'm having the same issue. I'm thinking perhaps oil pan gasket?? The crank hub looks dry, so I've ruled out front crank seal. The oil cooler isn't leaking, so I don't think it's the o-rings there. Just my cooler lines, and that whole general area in the engine is dripping wet with oil.
When you say oil cooler, do you mean the oil filter adapter? The silver deal that the oil filter screws onto? It has a very wimpy o-ring between it and the block that often fails. It will seep and do what you describe. I had to spray brake cleaner all over that area to get it clean so I could see. It helps alot if you can purchase some oil leak detection dye. It's similar to the dye used with a/c systems. It glows yellow under UV and thus will set the newly leaked oil apart from the old oil already in the vicinity.

There are three gaskets, one block cut ring and two o rings. On my car, it seems it was only the block cut ring was leaking.
You'll need a 41 mm socket to remove the banjo bolt.
This can be caused by age or by abuse when presented with difficulty removing the oil filter.
Do you need part numbers? See image at https://i.imgur.com/HvYvw8Y.png
