P0172 System Too Rich, bank 1
1996 Volvo 960. 119,500 original miles.
This code keeps coming on my OBD II display. I realize that it maybe due to Oxygen sensor. But which one?. These suckers are pretty expensive, and I hate to pay $200 for a unit which will not solve the problem for sure.
I will note that, the car run smoothly, and no hick ups during idle running. Its start with no problem. I don't hear the hissing noise due to possible vacuum leak.
Can anyone please help me pinpoint which one of the sensors is "bank 1". Also, is that possible to unscrew the Sensors and simply clean them, and re-install, or only a new one will work?.
thanks

Tech,
As always, thanks for prompt reply. You always been helpful on this forum.
Question: where do I find the sensor?. where is that located?. Perhaps I should look on YouTube for guidance)
