Problems starting a 1995 volvo 960.
My volvo has about 148k miles on it. It runs fine with no major problems. I recently drove it home from work and noticed that I had to put a little bit more pressure on the acceleration pedal which was a little odd to me. I got home parked it turn it off and tried to started it back up about 20 minutes later. When I tried to start it, the lights came on and instantly the car shut down. I tried to start it again and nothing came on at all.
That's when I had someone give me a jump and the lights finally came on, but it didn't start it just made clicking noises. After we took the jumper cable off the car started up. I left it on and let it sit for about 20 minutes then turned it off to restart and see if it would do the same thing. And that's exactly what happened everything shut off after a split second.
Tried to give it a jump again and nothing happened but clicking sounds. We took the cables off and I noticed the lights slowly turned off with a drowsy sound to it. The car still isn't working unless I share cables with someone.
I don't know what the problem is, I just recently had the fuel rail replaced a couple of weeks ago. I haven't had a full car inspection yet but will in a couple of weeks.
I don't really know much about vehicle maintenance. Should I take it to a auto shop or is it an easy fix? Any help would be appreciated.
