Radio issue in 92 960

I've recently purchased a 92 960 wagon and I'm having a problem with the speakers. The dash speakers work but the door speakers, front and rear don't work. I have discovered that if the volume is loud the speakers will work intermittently.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get the door speakers to work?
Also I've noticed that the radio has to handles that pop out on both sides of the radio. Can this radio be removed my simply pulling it out of the dash? If so, will removing the radio cause it to need the authorization codes when it is replaced?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Not sure why your door speakers are not working, my guess is cheap speakers used by Volvo. Maybe they are weathered from rain water draining in inside the door. My rear speaker just disintegrated, and the dash speakers the magnets fell out from the glue giving it up.
Yes, all you need to do is use those tabs on the side of the radio to pull out, there will be several connectors to undo once you remove it far enough.
And you will also need the radio code to enter upon reinstallation.
The dealer is the source, since the cars are old, and the radios are not in demand by neighborhood low lifes, okay, some maybe dumb ones, you may be able to get someone to give it to you over the phone.
