Default Rear Vibration

I have a 95 960 and the car has been sitting for over a year. I just put a new cylinder head in it and the car runs great. It has had a slight vibration. Well I put a couple of bags of salt in the back that is about 100 lbs and the vibration gets pretty bad around 45-50 then goes back to the slight vibration. The car has new struts and shocks on it. I got under the car and rotated the tires and the vibration is still in the back so its not an out of balance issue. I looked under the car and everything seems good and solid. Any ideas what this could be ?

Drive shaft angle to the diff. is critical. Your '95, does it have nivomats?

Or was that one of the major changes in '95, going to the fiberglass leaf spring and using normal shocks? You might also check the drive shaft bearing, and the trans mount at the tail shaft, both could be contributors.

I do see a fiberglass spring that runs side to side vs front to back ? Is that a nivomat ? It does have a normal shock and that spring you mention

Nivomats are self leveling shock, the motion of driving pumps them up and under load are capable of lift 350-400 pounds. But I believe that with the fiberglass spring, they went to normal shocks.

Nivomats have a bellows covering the bottom of the shock to keep out road grime on the strut part. nivomats are expensive about $200-250 a piece.

So if you have normal shocks then your spring is weak, or the center bearing or trans mount are in need of replacement.

The weird this is he car didnt shake till I put the extra weight in the back. Now that I take the weight out it still vibrates. I have a car lift and put it on that and can't see anything wrong with it. The car only vibrates bad between 45-50 then it goes away. I cant see anything wrong under it.
