Default Taillamp problems

So, this car has ate taillamp bulbs ever since I've owned it. I currently have no rear parking lamps, and only 1 working brake lamp. Turn signals work perfectly. Sockets appear to be in good physical condition, with no corrosion on the connections. I have voltage at the connections, bulbs are known good working bulbs, but I can't make them work. Any suggestions of where to look?

This is the only issue I have every had with my 960. Sometimes giving the light cluster a good whack works for a while. Otherwise, I have had to replace the circular light bulb holder that locks into the cluster. For some reason these fail and need to be replaced. Not sure why given the fact there is a only a couple of parts in the assembly but it has done the trick for me.

Good luck.

For what it's worth, I replaced the bulbs (again), and they both work now. Makes no sense, tested both bulbs and both filiments for continuity and they passed, so I don't know.

In the 1 year I've had my '96 960 wagon, I've replaced the rear tail/brake bulbs & 3rd brake light bulbs at least twice. I was questioning the quality of the bulbs I had.
