Hi all.
I have a 96 960 Volvo on the way home last night evething seem normal. This moring stared
up the car the Eng light and arrow linking light came on pull over to Auto zone ( 2mile away)
get it checked out notice the arrow light went off The Tech at Auto fulled the code is Po705
" not too sure looked over shoulder of a Tech" He told me take it to dealer , The dealer is 75mi
away is safe to drive that distance ? also noticed ckick down mode not working is it serious
problem?
Help please

 

It could be the PNP(Park Nuetral Position sensor)
Anytime there is a code in there it goes into limp home mode.
It will shift funny and sometimes start off in 3rd gear.
You should have no problems at all driving it 75 miles.

Here the up date fulled code #413 &313 for PNP and mode selector witches
parts and 3 hr labor Estimate is $550 is sound reasonable to you ? is it a
comon problem with 960.

That is pretty common.
The price is pretty close.Im not sure what the labor rate is by you but seems pretty close.
