volvo 760 alternator
Hello,i own a 90(i believe) 760 4cyl turbo, the car was running perfectly until the last week. Now,it drains the batteries and the overdrive is out of order, also does the power steering, and the ac warning makes green lights.ive read about this in an old post and im planning to solve the problem myself.the question i have is what should i look for in the wiring, and also if the only wiring i have to look is behind the speedo or if i have to check anything more.any answer would be helpful.
Use a volt meter and make sure the alternator is charging. If its draining overnight disconnect the battery ground. Use a DVOM between the ground wire and battery negative. The meter is set to amps. Wait until under dash lights shut off. Pull one fuse at a time until you find what circuit the problem is located.
hello, first of all thanks for your answer
.the cars alternator doesnt work well(the engine dies if i put out the battery terminal),so i will have it repaired in a few days.then ill check the way you suggested(pulling fuses),wich is a very good idea.ill keep you informed
