Hey guys,

I've got a 95 960 that is experiencing problems starting. If started briefly then stopped, it will occasionally not turn back over to start again. I fiddle with the shifter from park to neutral, try a few times and it starts again. Twice now, icluding the issue that is currently causing me the most worry is the arrow light flashing, and the winter and economy lights flshing. The first time my wife was driving and she left it for a few minutes and it resolved itself. No such luck this time. I've previously never driven it in "winter" mode but it feels sluggish and weird right now so I don't know if this is normal in winter mode and it just somehow shifted into that or if I've got serious transmission issues.

related or not: the shift override button has to be pressed to get the car out of park and the gear shifter shocked me once!

I was hoping shaggy bus had some feedback for what he encountered.

 

You likely have a PNP switch going bad. Do a Google Search for that and you will likely find your solution.
