Default What's The Best Oil To Use? '87 760 Turbo

Just wondering what the best oil is to use on my '87 760 turbo. I just changed it and put in Castrol GTX 10w30. Wondering what to use for the next change, or if i should stick with the same next time. Also, is it worth it to drain the oil cooler too? or seeing as how it all gets circulated anyway, is it not worth it?

Fr a turbo car, I'd run a synthetic. It'll take the heat better, and won't coke in the turbo as easily on hot shutdown. I run Rotella Synthetic 5W-40 in my 960.

yeah man i was really thinking about runnin synthetic, but i had heard a lot of people say before about how synthetic oil could possibly do harm to an old engine? i mean..so i figured it was best to just play it safe and use a nice weight regular oil..just becuase i didnt want to run that risk until i had i final answer on the whole synthetic in an older engine thing

Thats completely not true. My BMW has 200k on it and it see's 7280 RPM's (rev limiter) daily. It gets 5W-40 RTS and doesn't use a drop in a 5k mile OCI. My Volvo 960 has 160k on it with a completely unknown history and I'm running RTS 5W-40 in it as well.

I'm not familiar with the turbo cars, but I doubt anything other than draining whats in the pan is necessary.
