Thanks, I think I checked under the air pump while looking but will look again. There's suppose to be one at the base of the right strut tower and I can't find that either. The other says by the starter but I don't see any. I Did find one eventually close to the oil pan on the exhaust side of the engine.

Hopefully I can really dig in some more this weekend as it's not a simple looking around job...I need to take more covers off and really dig around to find these grounds...

Talk about the craziest solution...no more check engine light after 20 miles of driving so far.

So last night after all the frustration of trying to locate the ground wires, since a replacement part came in the mail, to make myself feel like I accomplished something, I replaced that...

The sensor I replaced is the low coolant warning sensor. It's the one that is on the bottom of the reservoir. It literally disintegrated while removing it. So I guess the wires must have been touching the metal surface on the car??? Because now that I have replaced it (I haven't checked for any shorts however), no more check engine light. I can't believe this may have been the culprit all along.

I'll see after some more driving but it looks like at least as it stands now, I can go and get the car smogged and get it registered!

One odd part however is that the low coolant light is still on (yes I have the coolant level topped off at the max line). Is that sensor I replaced what activates the coolant level light on the dash?
