1 & 1/2 Doors Open - Kids Climbing Over The Seat
Which is easier to change out the entire door or a new locking system?
I've been able to bring my 850 back to life on several occasions but the one one thing that is kicking my butt are the doors. First the rear passenger door failed then the front passenger failed from the inside and finally the rear driver door failed inside and out... I found a thread on how to fix the front passenger door with some zip ties & bushings (worked great!)
Found a thread to fix a stuck door that won't open (worked great for about 5 minutes) I got the door to open from the inside but the outer handle still will not open the door. I pulled on the door lever a few times to see if there was another linkage that was not connected and the upper portion of the door actuator just went limp and now I'm back to where I started from. 2 rear doors that will not open .
Something has to give because my daughters are 5'8" & 5'10" respectively and having them (or their friends) climb in and out of the back seat through the front passenger door is killing my center console and my mechanical ego....

@Bricked - LOL but I prefer to drive my 850 for daily zipping about & the SS does not have a/c it keeps burning through compressors.
okay guys I raised the white flag on this one.... the husband hates my 850 but when he came home today he listened to my plight, went out, a short time later he had both doors reopened, locking system pulled apart completely cleaned out, re-grommeted and working like new. The underlying fix was cleaning out the 15+ years of dirt and schmeg that built up in the locking system, that was causing the lock to malfunction. (who knew)
