Default 1993 GLT parts car?

Funny story kind of.

The guy down the street from my friend's new house has a 940 and a 93 850 GLT on the side of his house. He said the 850 needs a radiator and it runs pretty rough.

White on black/dark gray. Interior is in nice shape except for the wear on a driver's seat bolster. Black perforated leather. Pass. air bag cover is peeling, which I have seen before.

Has like 200 some thousand on the clock. Body is decent except for a broken passenger side glass headlight lens.

He said I could take parts or "Just buy the whole damn thing, mon!" (He is Jamaican) Super nice guy

What's this thing worth?

I would think it is worth at most, 1500 dollars. I would probably not spend more then 1000 for the whole car.

Do you need an 850 or the parts.

LOL

I was thinking $500 or less. I was going to part it out.

I paid $1300 for my current 850

If you can get it for 500 bucks, go for it. You will make the money back in parts.

I will talk to the guy next time I am at my friends house.

I REALLY like the perforated leather. Seems like that was a 1993 only thing.

Could I make money on this car?

Hmm... I know of a running '94 850 that I could snap up for $350. It's actually pretty clean, but it has over 219k miles (odometer quit working at that mileage) needs a PCV system, strut mounts, evaporator, and blows oil everywhere (I think the PCV was neglected too long. Maybe I WILL go and ****** up this car- I was thinking about fixing it up and selling it, but maybe I could part it, too.

That's only good for a parts car honestly, unless you're EXTREMELY attached to 850's I'd recommend it as a parts car. In fact, I'd be interested in a few minor parts if you got it, so keep that in mind.

Not to discourage you, but I think you'd have more work than its worth. You might make a few hundred dollars on it.

I saw a mint condition 850 T5 wagon go for $1,400 because it had over 230k miles. People are turned off by high miles, even though its a Volvo.
