1994 850 car runs fine then dies
my 1994 850 (non turbo) runs starts and runs fine then dies at random. Wait a couple of minutes and starts right up drives fine and sometimes it stalls and sometimes days go by and no problem. From what I've read either fuel pump
or the fuel pump relay. When I turn the key on but not start I get all the dash lights and about half the time I can hear the fuel pump run and pressurize the system and sometimes not. Shouldn't the pump come on everytime?

Next time it doesn't start, pop the fuel pump access cover and ck for 12v pwr and ground (w/key in RUN). If you have pwr then your relay is fine. Rap on the top of the pump housing and your pump may start running, albeit briefly.

Start carrying a paper clip with you and next time it dies and won't start try jumping the fuel relay with the paperclip. If it starts up, pull the clip and try with the relay again. If it won't start with the relay then you know it's a bad relay.
With all the complaints on relays I'd be tempted to just replace it and hope for the best.
