1994 Wireless Remote Receiver Will Not Enter Programming Mode
I have a 1994 Volvo 850 Wagon. I have one remote that locks and unlocks all doors and the rear wagon door. However, I would like to program an extra remote to lock and unlock the vehicle but cannot get the wireless remote receiver to enter program mode. I’ve tried the procedure of locking the doors and turning the ignition 5 times from off to the number 2 position and also from the number 1 position to the number 2 position and then pressing the lock or unlock button on the remotes but they never program. Obviously the receiver is not entering program mode because when I follow the procedure and don’t push a button on the remote that works, that remote keeps working. If the receiver did enter program mode then the working remote should stop working if I don’t press a button on that remote. All fuses check good and no error codes. I have a feeling that it has something to do with my alarm system. I noticed that the alarm light on the middle of the dash never comes on whether the vehicle is locked or unlocked so I’m assuming that my alarm is inop. I would greatly appreciate any advice on how to get the receiver to enter programming mode.
