HI,
guys im a little new to this site.
but I own a 1995 Volvo 850 turbo sedan has 184536 miles on it I did the pcv with the mod on it , I have done a full tune up on it fuel filter air filter, plugs wires cap & rotor new oil full synthetic of course. but when I first purchased the car it had amazing gas mileage 22 city about now I have 15.6 maybe 16 on a good day I am trying to figure out what would be causing this , I do have an Evap code due to the filler neck seal is bad cause when I pump gas I cant put the nozzle in all the way it will stop pumping also if I go over 12 gallons of gas I start to smell fuel in the car itself is that a bad vent ?and could these cause my poor gas mileage ?
I only use 93 , when I did the PCV 4,000 miles ago I cleaned the throttle body fuel injectors put new fuel injector seals top and bottom in , new gaskets of course on everything as well. that is my first question .



my second question is I noticed I have oil when I pull the spark plug cover off its gather around cylinder 3 and actually leaking into it , I just noticed this when I bought new plugs and wires 2 weeks ago. what would cause the ? the oil cap seal possibly ?




3rd question I plan on working my way up to do a 5 speed swap and I do want to rebuild the motor as well , I know I need new seals but I was planning on doing new valves, piston rings, head gasket, sending the head out to get check and machined if necessary, what else should I do while I do this ? what do I exactly need to do the 5 speed swap ?


I am plan on doing all new lines on the car brake, fuel , oil cooler lines, tranny lines power steering you name it , new suspension all around etc, new brakes , I plan on redoing the whole car basically , but I have the basics of what I should replace but is there anything else im missing ?
and I plan on doing an exhaust , upgraded turbo , headers, intake manifold, ecu flash bigger injectors etc, is there anything else I should upgrade while redoing the motor itself ? im not trying to get 500 hp out of the car but I want to get to a decent amount 250-300 ish maybe a little less I just want to know what I need to do to get to where im heading , money isn't a issue like I said before im not a mechanic but I friends and family who are mechanics and I have been learning and I want to do this rebuild and performance upgrades myself with a little bit of help when it comes to replacing rods bearings, valves etc. just want to make sure im getting the right idea here of what I need to do basically lol

start with one thing at a time, prioritize what you want/what needs done and come back with more specific questions

 

sorry i was not specific enough on what i want currently i just want more information on what i should replace while i pull the motor and what i need exactly to do a proper 5 speed swap in the car, that is for the future.

my current need is the poor gas mileage issue i would like to fix now. everything else i plan on doing in the a couple months down the road but want to get everything priced ahead of time so i know what i really need to do to the motor etc.
