Wicked! Post some vids, you've now got a uk spec police T5! lol
Does it pull harder to 60? I'd think the auto would be quicker to 60 then fall back after 80+.
Do you think you'll net a better 1/4 mile time?

Congradulation! I just recently did a manual swap in my '96 850R wagon about three weeks ago. I am still on the open diff., but I'm not concerned about that right now. It drives like a completely different car. Made me fall in love with it all over again.
How did the swap go for you? Any issues? My biggest issue was getting the pedal assemlies in and out.
Enjoy!

Pedals were actually easy in my case. Master cylinder went fine too. The hard part was just all the crud that has to be removed to get the trans out and doing it in the driveway by myself. I dropped the sub frame but wish I had pulled the engine. Difficult to say which is easier. I think if you have help it would not be so bad.
The Quaife install went fine but I ended up with some play in the bearing races, later fixed. Apparently there was a spacer that fell out that I missed when I pulled the old races out. Took me a day of running around town to find a replacement. Then after installing the replacement I found the one that fell out. Needless to say, after all the measuring and trying of different size spacers I ended up opening and closing the trans 6 times. I know that thing inside and out pretty good now. The Quaife is fun, you can feel the difference when you take off. No more spinning tires out of turns.
45 to 80 is amazing!! Every gear is music as you get to hear the engine rev and fall. I feel some what like a low rider as I have been creeping down the road until I feel differently then I wow my spectators.
Still working with some wiring and the shift boot mount but its done otherwise.

40-80 is where the auto's 2nd gear starts and is fail..
but do you think out the hole to 50 the auto would be quicker due to the 5mt shifting from 1-2 @ 35mph?
Either way the pull from 40 up to triple digits is where the 5mt eats the auto.
